After quitting his job and relocating to Texas due to a family emergency, Andrew, a network engineer with over eight years of experience, struggled to find his next job in an unfamiliar city. To pay the bills in the short-term, Andrew secured a job as a sales consultant for a local car dealership, but his passion remained in information technology. LaSalle’s client, a business and technology consulting firm in Chicago, was in need of a senior consultant for a temporary-to-permanent opportunity out of their Houston office. This role was a combination of management and technical skills, with the new hire being primarily responsible for managing small to mid-sized networking environments.
Despite initial objections from our client due to Andrew’s current sales role, LaSalle had confidence in Andrew’s IT background and encouraged the hiring managers to meet with Andrew anyway. They hired Andrew within two weeks time, and in less than a month he had returned to a career that he was passionate about while remaining close to his family in Texas.
