LaSalle Network

Hiring process consultation delivers high-quality talent in a short time period

Challenge

Our client, an online leader in higher education, was in need of three to five assessment evaluators to review transcripts for transfer students of the online university. Our client preferred to interview up to 15 candidates for these positions, and historically had interviewed each potential new hire individually.

Identify – College graduates with a liberal arts background, attention to detail and sharp analytical skills
Qualify – Candidates who are open to a temporary-to-permanent opportunity that calls for extreme attention to detail and teamwork
Deliver – Three to five candidates twice a year to review in detail the transcripts of transfer students

Solutions

LaSalle Network developed a specific sourcing and recruitment strategy, as well as offered extensive consulting services to this higher education client, to identity sharp and professional college graduates.

The recruitment strategy consisted of the following:

  • Direct E-mail Campaign – LaSalle used targeted e-mail campaigns to connect with passive and active job seekers in the Chicagoland marketplace. By strategically crafting a campaign that spoke to what job seekers desire in a new role, this technique allowed LaSalle Network to net high volumes of qualified candidates
  • Specialized Marketing Tools – To increase efficiency and time-to-hire, LaSalle suggested conducting first round interviews as a group, with six to eight candidates in each session. In addition, LaSalle provided a Candidate Advisement Program booklet for each group interview, which included all candidate resumes, sample interview questions and evaluation sheets to standardize and simplify the interview process

Results

This process change, from individual to group interviews, allowed our client to conduct first and second round interviews and hire five new employees within two weeks. Because of LaSalle Network’s consulting services and high-quality talent, LaSalle has placed over 50 percent of our client’s assessment team since 2007.

The highly qualified new hires presented by LaSalle Network have provided such value to our client over the three year partnership, that nearly 95 percent of these temporary-to-permanent positions have converted to permanent employment. LaSalle’s process improvements were so effective, they have remained a fixture in our client’s interview process ever since.
